Mr. Carlo has tried cases before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and every Circuit Court in the State of Maryland. He has been lead counsel in numerous matters argued before both Appellant Courts of the state of Maryland, in many of these cases establishing new law in the areas of psychiatric injuries, Belcher v. T. Rowe Price Foundation, Inc., 329 Md. 709 (1993), the going and coming rule, Globe Screen Printing Corp. v. Young, 138 Md. App. 122 (2001), the duties of statutory principal contractors to sub-contractors’ employees, Inner Harbor Warehouse & Distribution, Inc. v. Myers, 80 Md. App. 1 (1989), affirmed 321 Md. App. 363 (1990), consequential injuries resulting from prior disabilities, Luby Chevrolet v. Gerst, 112 Md. App. 177 (1996) and issues involving partial or full dependency in death cases, Martin v. Beverage Capital, 353 Md. 388 (1999). Mr. Carlo has traveled extensively throughout the states of Maryland, New York and North Carolina as well as the District of Columbia lecturing on worker’s compensation and personal injury defense issues as well as serving as a lecturer and presenter to the Maryland Worker’s Compensation Education Association. Mr. Carlo is a member of the bars of Maryland, Connecticut and the District of Columbia as well as having been admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Maryland State, Federal and American Bar Associations, the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Maryland Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the National Association of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals. |
